Ways To Manage Work Caused By Stress And Tension

Manage Work Caused By Stress And TensionIn today’s economy, we face a roller coaster of tension from downsizing to budget cuts and it may leave you feeling stressed out. You may feel like you are in pain from too much stress, and it’s taking a toll on your joints and giving you headaches. In this article, we will show you how you can take the stress away and manage pain.

Give yourself the right mindset

Worrying about stress from work doesn’t add anything positive to your life. When you are done working for the day, leave your work at work, don’t take it home. Start to think positive, it raises your life span, it gives you a better well-being feeling, and most important it gives you coping skills to handle stressful situations you may encounter. (Mayo Clinic, n.d.)

Choose a diet and exercise plan

Eating the right foods will help you stay focused and get the tasks done that you need to get accomplished. Also eating healthy food will give you the right nutrition to keep your energy levels high throughout your workday. Today’s marketplace caters to better tasting healthy meals. As for exercise, you will want to try to get at least 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity a day. Not only does exercise relieve stress, but it releases endorphins that make you feel better. (Boecker et al. 2008).

Time management

Try some of these time management skills to ease up on the stress from your career.

  • Try to leave early in the morning. It’s important to leave a bit earlier in the morning to get a head start on your work for the day.
  • Breaks up larger tasks. Try to break bigger projects into three or four smaller projects to make the job easier.
  • Balance your workload. Try to be organized and order your day effectively.
  • Be proactive with your breaks. Use this time to take a brisk walk to get your attention away from work even for a short while.
  • Don’t take on tasks that you can’t handle. First and foremost you should look at your tasks for the day that you need to get done. Don’t let a co-worker or a boss pressure you to take on more work.

(Truman & Hartley, 1996).

Try a physical therapist

If the stress you are feeling, has your stomach in knots, and you have tried the other methods with little success than seek out the help of a qualified physical therapist to help relieve you of your stressful ailments.
